Frequently Asked QuestionsÂ

Which Plan Is Right For Me?
If you are a self-starter and someone who doesnt really thrive in a group setting, The Self Study Plan may be best for you. This does not include access to the community circles, group chat, group coaching, or access to me, so you are on your own to implement the tools given in the program.Â
If you want the accountability, camaraderie and support of a group, plus access to me during group coaching and instruction, the Study and Support Plan may be best for you. You will have access to the Cohort Circle Chat for 8 weeks, plus 8 group coaching calls. Your access to The Edison Effect program will stay active for one year.Â
Finally, if you want ongoing support for the duration of your recovery, however long it takes, The Lifetime Access Plan may be right for you. You will have everything that is included in the Study and Support program, and when your cohort is finished, you can participate in a Lifetime Member Chat, and any and all future cohorts, plus lifetime access to The Edison Effect program.
When Are The Group Coaching Calls?
Group Coaching Calls via the Study and Support Plan, are offered as part of a quarterly cohort on Mondays at 11:30 am and at 7:00 p.m EST/NYC.
You can choose which cohort to join at the start. Lifetime members can be on both calls.Â
How Often Are Study & Support Group Cohorts Offered?
Group cohorts for the Study & Support Plan are offered quarterly; 4 times a year. If you want to take the program in between these cohorts, you can take the Self Study Plan and then simply upgrade to Study & Support, to participate in the next group cohort when it starts.Â
(If you are already taking The Self Study Program, contact me for upgrade link.)
How Do I Upgrade My Plan?
You can upgrade at any time from Self Study to Study & Support or Lifetime Access, or from Study & Support to Lifetime Access, by simply contacting me. I will send you the offer to upgrade.
Pay the difference in program plans and you're all set!Â
Are The Group Calls Recorded?
Weekly calls for the group cohorts (via the Study and Support Plan) are recorded and remain accessible for the 8-10 weeks of our program; plus an additional month afterwards, and then deleted when the next cohort begins.Â
If you are unable to participate due to your health, you can watch the call on replay. It will be sent to you via LINK by email the following day.
What If I Have Questions About The Lessons?
If you are taking the program as part of the Study & Support or Lifetime Access Plan, you're encouraged to send me ONE question to be addressed in the live call that week. I will do my best to answer as many questions as possible, and new member's (plus upgrades to the cohort) questions are prioritized.Â
Members are encouraged to brainstorm together in the 8 Week Community Live Chat, where everyone will be "hanging out" sharing their experience, insights and their wins!Â
If you are taking the program as part of The Self Study Plan, you do not have access to group coaching or a community circle, but can upgrade at any time during a quarterly enrollment period. Â
What If I Am Too Sick To Keep Up With The Course?
You are not expected to “keep up” with the course in any rigid way.
The Edison Effect is designed to meet people across a very wide range of severity levels — from individuals who are still working part-time, all the way to those who are largely bedbound and highly sensitive.
Both the Self Study and Study & Support versions of the program include 1 full year of access to the video modules, so there is never pressure to move through the material quickly. Many members move slowly, revisit lessons multiple times, pause when needed, or engage with only small portions at a time.
If you join firstly through Study & Support, it is important to understand that your experience of the cohort may look very different from someone who is more mild. You may not be able to attend every call live, watch every replay in full, or absorb large amounts of information at once — and that is completely okay.
Many more severe members still find the coaching and community support deeply valuable, even if they engage in smaller doses or primarily listen back over time. You can also submit coaching questions even if you cannot attend live.
That said, if you are currently extremely severe and easily overwhelmed, some people prefer to begin with Self Study first so they can familiarize themselves with the material gently before later upgrading into the coaching environment.
There is no “right” pace in this program. The goal is not to push through the material, but to support your nervous system and healing process in a sustainable way.
Â
How Much Time Do I Need to Invest In The Program?
The program is intentionally designed to be approached gently and sustainably.
Over the 8-week coaching cohort, 5 videos are released each week. The videos range from approximately 15–40 minutes in length, though most average around 20 minutes.
Members are encouraged to watch no more than one video per day at most, and many people move through the material even more slowly depending on their capacity.
In addition to the educational content, the program also introduces supportive practices such as meditation, pacing and tracking tools, nervous system regulation exercises, somatic work, and lifestyle support strategies.
However, these practices are always adapted to your individual capacity and stage of illness.
The goal is not to implement everything at once or overwhelm your system with “healing work.”
In fact, part of the philosophy of the program is learning how to stop overextending and instead build recovery in a gradual, sustainable way.
We often talk about “building the recovery house” slowly, brick by brick. Different people will focus on different pieces at different times, depending on what their nervous system and body can realistically tolerate.
For many members, the actual daily time investment is well under an hour per day — and it is completely acceptable to move more slowly if needed.
Is There Any Homework?
Yes — there are daily assignments throughout the program designed to help you build awareness around your recovery process and gently begin putting the concepts into practice in your real life.
Most assignments are short reflective or written exercises that can typically be completed in a matter of minutes and adapted to your current level of wellness and cognitive capacity.
Others are small action-based practices intended to help you gradually build the foundations of recovery over time.
The purpose of the assignments is not perfection or performance, but integration.
The program is designed to help you slowly apply the material in a sustainable and individualized way, rather than simply consuming information intellectually.
As with all aspects of the course, you are encouraged to work within your capacity. The assignments are meant to support your healing process — not overwhelm your system.
What If I Need 1:1 Support?
At this time, 1:1 coaching is not available to individuals outside of the program.
If you are unsure whether The Edison Effect is the right fit for you, the best place to begin is by exploring the free educational materials available on my website. These resources are designed to give you a strong sense of my philosophy, approach, and the types of concepts we explore inside the program.
You can begin with:
-
The free webinars: anjgranieri.com/freewebinars
-
The PEM Guide: PEM Guide
-
The free eBook: Free eBook
For most people, these materials are enough to determine whether the program resonates with them and feels aligned with the type of support they are seeking.
For members enrolled in the Study & Support cohort, there is occasionally limited availability for a one-time 1:1 support session during the 8-week cohort period.
These sessions are offered on a case-by-case basis and cannot be guaranteed, as availability fluctuates.
Outside of this, drop-in coaching sessions are not offered.
More in-depth 1:1 support is available only through private mentorship for Lifetime Members on a case-by-case basis.
These mentorship containers take place within a dedicated 3-month commitment, allowing us to work more deeply and consistently with the program material, your individual nervous system patterns, pacing, and recovery process over time.
What Is The Difference Between The 3 Plans?
The Edison Effect is one core program offered with three different levels of access and support. The educational content itself is the same — the difference is how much support, coaching access, and long-term access you receive.
Self Study
Self Study includes 1 full year of access to the complete Edison Effect program, including all modules, meditations, worksheets, and resources.
This option is designed for individuals who prefer to move through the material independently. It does not include live coaching calls or community access.
Your 1-year access period begins the day you enroll.
At any point during your active membership year, you can upgrade to Study & Support or Lifetime Access if you decide you would like additional support.
Study & Support
Study & Support includes everything in Self Study, plus access to one live 8-week coaching cohort during your active membership year.
This includes:
-
Weekly live group coaching calls during the cohort (two time zones)
-
Access to the private community space during the cohort
-
Cohort-specific support and accountability
You may either:
-
Enroll directly into Study & Support from the beginning, or
-
Start in Self Study and upgrade later anytime before your 1-year access expires
Many people appreciate having the flexibility to begin gently and join coaching later when they feel more stable or ready for support.
Important clarification:
Study & Support does not include a full year of coaching access. The live coaching portion lasts for the duration of your selected 8-week cohort only.
Access to cohort calls, community spaces, and coaching replays expires when the next cohort begins.
However, your access to the core Edison Effect program materials continues for the remainder of your original 1-year membership period.
Lifetime Access
Lifetime Access includes ongoing access to The Edison Effect program materials without expiration.
Lifetime Members also receive:
-
Access to future program updates
- 24/7 live chat with other lifetime members
- Prompts from me within the community to deepen awareness of recoveryÂ
-
Access to future coaching cohorts and replays of callsÂ
-
The ability to revisit the material long-term as their healing journey evolves
This option is ideal for individuals who want continued long-term access, ongoing support opportunities, and the flexibility to revisit the work over time without worrying about membership expiration.
You can of course choose to enroll in lifetime at the start of your journey which will automatically enroll you in the next cohort, or you can upgrade from Self Study or Study & Support within your year access.Â
I Have Long Covid. Is This Program Suitable For Me?
Yes. Many individuals inside The Edison Effect developed ME/CFS following COVID infection.
The program is designed to address ME/CFS regardless of the trigger, so the question is not "does this work for covid?" or "what triggered my MECFS?" but rather "do I meet the criteria for MECFS?
That includes specifically post exertional malaise, physiological overwhelm, sleeplessness or brain fog, reactivated viral load, mitochondrial dysfunction, exercise intolerance and dysautonomia.
If you meet that criteria, you are in the right place.Â
While everyone’s medical situation and recovery journey is unique, many people with Long COVID find that the concepts explored inside the program strongly resonate with their lived experience, even if they have not received an MECFS diagnosis, due to so much medical misunderstanding of the illness itself.Â
If you have Long Covid organ damage such as permanent lung scarring or myocarditis, my program will not be able to assist with that aspect of your LC. But for many if not most long haulers, they are dealing with MECFS, which is dysregulation not permanent damage as we'd see in COPD or cirrhosis for instance - and my program fits them quite well. Â
The Edison Effect approaches recovery through a comprehensive lens that includes nervous system regulation, pacing and stabilization, physiological support, trauma and stress physiology, and gradual capacity building over time and is applicable to those who have the illness, regardless of trigger.
Am I Too Old To Recover?
No. People of many different ages in the program have experienced meaningful improvement and recovery, from as young as 16 to as old as 81.Â
While age can influence factors such as resilience, hormones, conditioning, recovery speed, and overall health complexity, the body and nervous system remain adaptable throughout the lifespan. Recovery is not reserved only for young people.
The program is not built around the idea of “pushing harder” or forcing the body beyond its limits.
Instead, it focuses on creating the conditions that support regulation, stabilization, healing, and gradual adaptation over time.
Every person’s path will look different, and outcomes can never be guaranteed, but age alone does not disqualify someone from healing or improvement.
What If I Have Photophobia & Audio Sensitivities?
Many members inside the program experience significant sensory and cognitive sensitivities, especially during more severe phases of illness.
The course is designed to be adapted to your current level of capacity. You are encouraged to engage with the material slowly and gently, rather than trying to consume everything at once.
Some members choose to:
-
Watch videos at half speed
-
Listen only to audio
-
Read only the summary notes initially
-
Engage with just 5–10 minutes of material at a time
-
Pause frequently and revisit material later
-
Begin with Self Study before entering a coaching cohort
There is never pressure to complete the material quickly. The goal is to support your nervous system, not overwhelm it. I usually encourage everyone to begin wherever they are, because waiting till you see improvement to take the program, when the program can provide guidelines on how to make improvement, can be a fruitless endeavor.
Better to move at a snails pace that honors your body and begin to take in the course, than continue doing what you know is not working.Â
Is the course available in other languages?
Not at this time.
It should be noted that many people enrolled in The Edison Effect are not first language speakers of English.
It can of course be challenging when already impaired to read or take in a course in your second language, but many people do it. Please respect your own limitations and energy around this.Â
Currently, The Edison Effect is offered only in English. However, we are in the early stages of beginning translations into Swedish, German, and Spanish.
Because the program contains nuanced discussions around nervous system regulation, trauma, pacing, physiology, and recovery, we want to approach translation thoughtfully and carefully to preserve the integrity and accuracy of the material.
If additional language options become available in the future, announcements will be shared through the newsletter and social media channels.
What If I Cannot Afford The Program?
Yes. I try to offer multiple pathways to make the program more accessible whenever possible.
Give Forward Promotion
Each November, I offer a limited-time “Give Forward” promotion in which the Self Study version of the program is discounted by approximately 40% for 11 days.
Payment Plans
Extended payment plans are available for many program options to help reduce the upfront financial burden.
Early Bird Discounts
Prior to open enrollment for Study & Support cohorts, I occasionally offer a limited number of discounted Early Bird spots to newsletter subscribers.
Scholarship Program
A scholarship program is also available periodically. You can check the store page to see whether applications are currently open.
The best way to stay informed about discounts, scholarships, and enrollment opportunities is by joining the newsletter.
Are The Coaching Calls Available Year-Round?
Study & Support cohorts run periodically throughout the year during designated open enrollment periods rather than continuously.
If you begin in Self Study, you will be notified by email whenever enrollment opens for an upcoming coaching cohort and will have the opportunity to upgrade at that time, provided your 1-year membership access is still active.
Because coaching cohorts are live and community-based, upgrades into Study & Support can only occur during active enrollment windows and cannot be added retroactively once a cohort is already underway.
If you are a Lifetime Member, you will receive an optional invitation to join each future coaching cohort.
Participation is never mandatory, and as a lifetime member, you are welcome to engage as little or as much as feels supportive for your system and stage of healing.
